From its inception, the facility now known as VERO BEACH SPORTS VILLAGE was designed to give teams the opportunity to train, live and play together —in a unique environment where athletes could develop their skills to the highest level.

This pioneering approach to team and player development came to life beginning in 1948 when the then Brooklyn Dodgers moved to an abandoned naval base in beautiful Indian River County on the Treasure Coast of Florida.  With his appointment as team president in 1951, Walter O’Malley continued the transformation of the old naval base into Dodgertown® and for more than 60 years it served as the spring training site for the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers.  Baseball legends such as Walter Alston, Duke Snider, Jackie Robinson, Tommy Lasorda, Don Drysdale and Sandy Koufax all called it home.

When the Dodgers moved their spring training activities west in 2008, it opened the door for athletes, teams and organizations from a variety of disciplines to experience first-hand this versatile and renowned sports complex. Now operated by Minor League Baseball,  VERO BEACH SPORTS VILLAGE is the ideal sports training and meeting facility. Our highly dedicated staff has over one hundred years of combined experience attending to the needs of professional sports teams and is ready to help your organization or team lay a new foundation for success.

VERO BEACH SPORTS VILLAGE provides the ideal setting to enable your team to grow together and better prepare for your upcoming season. From the moment you arrive until it is time to leave, everything you need is here at this beautiful 79-acre sports and conference center.
