Largest Youth Baseball Tournament Held at VBSV This Weekend
  
VERO BEACH, Fla.— 52 teams from all over the state of Florida are scheduled to participate this weekend in the Vero Beach Sports Village (VBSV) Labor Day Beach Bash on September 1-3. The number of teams playing in this weekend’s event is the highest attendance in all VBSV-held youth baseball tournaments since the re-opening of the facility in 2010.
 
Age divisions participating include 9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U, 14U and 16U. 9U-12U age divisions will play their games at the new VBSV youth baseball field complex that opened in June, with the older age divisions utilizing Holman Stadium and four other full-size on-site fields. Tournament play will begin on Saturday morning at 8am at the now 79-acre Vero Beach Sports Village complex.
 
Local participating teams from Vero Beach include the Indian River Rivals, Vero Beach Blaze, VBBA Scorpions, Vero Beach Pirates, and Sebastian Makos. Among others attending are The Winning Inning (Clearwater, Fla.), North Florida Storm (Amelia Island, Fla.), Tampa Terror (Palm Harbor, Fla.), Team Worth (Fort Pierce, Fl) and Trojan Baseball (Coral Springs, Fla.).
 
Registration and check-in will be on Friday the 31st, with three days of tournament play beginning the following day.
 
This weekend’s tournament is sponsored by the Treasure Coast Sports Commission.
 
The event is open to the public and admission is $5 per person, per day or $10 per person for an all-tournament pass.
